

I've heard you can calculate latency by doing buffer size divided by sampling frequency.ġ.4 and 2.1 are the values given in Traktion, but are completely off for the above values from Live. I'm starting to understand why the 64 samples thing seems so wrong. Many such interfaces, including the MBox for PTLE, cannot run that low, 256 is good for many of these, many needing >384 samples to run reliably. I would be surprised, frankly, if the Tapco interface, which is an older USB 1.1 device, sould operate reliably at 64 samples. Something is wrong with that first reading. I mean, I can get Reason 2.5 working on 64 samples (on my Alesis IO14), but forget about Live, the minimum there is 128 samples for a light project and more likely 256 or higher for heavier projects, although I have direct monitoring and use that for most audio recording purposes, negating the latency issue somewhat. Ewi is correct though that you have to consider all of the latencies not just output latency.
